The raw memory performance of the DFI is quite low, especially in copy performance compared to the MSI. It noses ahead in raw write performance but it's a very small margin that's directly proportional to the HyperTransport frequency. DFI limits the 1,066MHz memory timings to 5-5-5-16 (rather than 15) and setting the Optimial Performance Mode and Auto Tweak Performance settings didn't work for us as the system would simply hang when restarted.

Sisoft Sandra is largely unforgiving towards the DFI as it drops 15 percent in raw performance figures here, although the latency only increases slightly by a single nanosecond.
